Cosmopolitan Magazine Printed Sexcapade #1

Thank goodness beauty parlors have back issues! As I was having a manicure/pedicure yesterday, imagine my surprise when I spotted Sexcapade #1, Contorted in Handcuffs, in Cosmopolitan magazine’s January 2005 issue, specifically, in the column Cosmo Confessions where “Women admit to their dirtiest deeds and most shameless scams ever.”

Now how come I didn’t know?

I was ignorant of the fact simply because I only buy Cosmo once in a blue moon. Not that that’s an indicator of the quality of Cosmopolitan magazine, but rather there are other personal considerations.

Of course, if I had known that they were going to print it, I would have bought a copy. Now why I was expecting them to let me know? Because when Good Housekeeping, another magazine of Summit Media, just like Cosmo, was going to feature a letter I wrote, they gave me a notice through email.

Well, this time around I didn’t receive any such notice. I submitted Sexcapade #1 through email around October 2004, but when I didn’t get any notice by December, I gave up on it. During all this time, I thought it got rejected.

Sexcapade #1, Contorted in Handcuffs, appeared at the lower right part of the Cosmo Confessions page. As you can see from the picture, I could have gotten an Artdeco Color & Contour Lip Duo Stylo Lipstick. But the prizes were forfeited if they’re not claimed by January 31, 2005. Darn…

The advantage of reading Sexcapade #1- Contorted in Handcuffs here at the site is you will get more details, because I think Cosmo had to edit it due to space constraints. But I’m pleased as punch that aside from those space saving changes, Cosmo printed it almost verbatim.

Well, I tore off this page with the beauty parlor owner’s consent, but, of course, I’m going to be on the lookout for Cosmopolitan magazine’s January 2005 issue on the stands of book discount stores. By the way, it has O.C.’s Mischa Barton on the cover. If anybody spots one, can you please let me know? I would really appreciate it.
