Push the Condom- Push the condom to the bottom so that you can avoid damaging it when you tear the packet open.

Tear the Packet- Tear the packet open with your fingers, not with your teeth, as you may accidentally damage the condom.
|
|
Push the Bottom- Push the bottom of the packet to push the condom out.
|
|
Make Sure Unrolled Ring is Outside- Making sure your nails are clean and have no sharp edges, handle the condom gently, and check that the unrolled ring is on the outside.

|
Squeeze Air Out- Squeeze the condom tip to remove any trapped air, and place on the head of the erect penis.
|
|
Hold the Condom Tip- Hold the condom tip with your thumb and forefinger against the head of the erect penis.
|
|
Unroll Condom Gently- Start unrolling the condom over the penis.
|
|
Keep on Rolling- Roll the condom till the base of the penis.
|
|
Space for Semen- By holding on to the tip, a space is created for the ejaculated semen.
|
|
Avoid Air Bubbles- Trapped air can cause air bubbles, which may cause discomfort, and, even worse, accidents that may cause the condom to break.
|
|
Trapped Semen- (Don’t worry, that’s just milk.) Ideally, if the condom is put on properly, it will catch and trap all semen.
|
Of course, the things that a condom is supposed to help prevent, such as pregnancy and STDs, can only happen if there is no unprotected contact with your partner’s genital or private areas. And remember, No Contraceptive Provides 100% Protection.

Lorna, thanks for this article. I have to teach my 14-yr olds sometime in May how to put on a condom as part of their sex education and this article just showed me how to! I might buy a couple or 3 condoms before the lesson and try to put them on a boiling tube. I am not looking forward to this lesson – I might have the attack of the giggles! Hi Malini. Please rest assured that the 14 year olds Ruby is referring to are a classroom full of teenagers, both male and female. There were no actual penises involved, just test tubes.
Teaching how to put on a condom is mandated by law in the UK. As you can probably surmise, Ruby was a teacher at the time she wrote the comment. Thank you.

this is actually exactly what im looking for, some people have written on here that this is dumb, but im doing a health assignment, and i need to teach grade 12’s on the dangers of unprotected sex at schoolies, and i needed to make sure they all new how to put a condom on correctly and i needed pictures to place on a slideshows, this is fantastic just for the research and general knowledge…
