Britney Spears Divorce Lessons

I sent a SMS thru UNLIMITXT on 09 November 2006 stating, “Britney Spears is divorcing! Rejoicing galore!”

I can only heave a sigh of relief as Britney Spears wakes up from a love induced coma. And let us all learn from her experiences by looking at the blinking, and later on, flashing warning signs before the divorce.

The Warning Signs

His ex-girlfriend is pregnant with his baby while they’re dating. Kevin Federline, the soon to be ex-husband, has two kids with his ex-girlfriend, one of whom was born while he and Britney were dating.

For us, let us remember that human behavior is known to be repetitive, so what your man is doing now to his ex, he’ll probably do it with you later.

In Britney’s case, his notable absence during all the baby mishaps (the wrong way to sit the baby in the car or when she almost fell forward while carrying the baby), for which she was berated for publicly, became all the more apparent with his non-appearance by her side.

Britney Spears long time manager splits up with her during her engagement. Officially, the split with Britney’s long time manager, Larry Rudolph, was amicable.

However, in my opinion, the timing gives rise to the speculation that the man who has helped catapult her to her present success, who can only mean well, probably said something negative about the impending marriage that Britney took offence with.

In our own relationships, when the people who genuinely care about us voice their concern, can we at least listen, not necessarily to believe, but at least listen?

His income is way lower than Britney Spears. Kevin Federline’s earnings as a back up dancer cannot, in all probability, equal Britney’s reported $123 M worth.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but let’s be honest enough to accept the possibility that this might be a cause of future arguments and a probable cause for being motivated to hook up with her.

To remove finances as a motivating element in any marriage, pre-nuptial agreements are definitely in order, or, at least, some form of verbal or written agreement in any relationship can be done that both parties are satisfied with.

According to BBC, “Spears asks that each party pay their own legal fees and does not request spousal support.

“She also requests assets including “miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects” and her earnings from after the separation date be confirmed as separate from her husband’s property.”

He keeps Britney Spears barefoot and pregnant. A female risks her life when she decides to be pregnant, that’s why a certain period of time is recommended between each pregnancy.

Barely has their first child been born, Britney is reported to be pregnant with baby number two.

Aside from risking her health, the pregnancy and birth prevent any immediate plans for her career, as the pop princess deals with the more urgent and important task of taking care of her children.

Let us examine the demands placed upon us by our own relationships. Are they helping us grow or are they hindering us?

And when the time comes when the irrefutable facts glare at us, I hope we have the strength to break it off just like Britney Spears.
