Justin Timberlake Music Video What Goes Around

To my apprehension, during the Grammys, Justin Timberlake started singing What Goes Around… Comes Around, the one song I don’t listen to in his latest release called Future Sex Love Sounds, because from the lyrics, it sounds like he’s harping about his past love — Britney Spears.

My apprehension was justified a little bit when Justin Timberlake, during the latter part of his Grammys performance, grabbed a video camera and pointed it at himself—a move reminiscent from the music video Cry Me a River that caused a furor because it seemed Justin was getting back at his ex-girlfriend by using a Britney Spears look alike.

Although Justin kept fobbing off the allegations by saying he had nothing to do with it because it was the director’s decision, it’s clear from an interview that Francis Lawrence consulted with the singer regarding the concept. “We had a conversation on the phone and all he [Justin Timberlake] said was he wanted to have some dancing in it, but to do my thing… and so I came up with this idea and he went for it. Of course, I put these details in that he enjoyed.”

Thankfully, the music video of What Goes Around distracts from the revealing lyrics by casting the mesmerizing and beautiful Scarlett Johansson as Justin Timberlake’s cheating girlfriend. There’s excellent on screen chemistry between the two that Scarlett Johansson is rumored to be the cause of Justin Timberlake’s break-up with Cameron Diaz.

On the other hand, with Britney’s new bold bald look, she and Justin will look like a matched pair if they ever get together.
