A girlfriend bemoaned the fact that there was a dearth of willing, able, and, most importantly, discreet sexual partners that she could hook up with, which prompted me to ask, “Does it have to be with a person?”

Perplexed, she asked hesitantly, “What do you mean? With an animal?”

My eyebrows met in exasperation as I widened my eyes expectantly.

Catching on, she whispered, “You mean… masturbation?”

I gave a ‘Duh, what else?’ expression.

And then, we both laughed uproariously at the “miscommunication.”
