A Midsummer Night’s Dream The love quartet in Shakespeare’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream is recreated in the Maging Sino Ka Man third to the last episode.

Glenda “Mamu G” Garcia loves Phillip “Amang” Salvador who, in turn, loves Chin-chin “Corazon” Gutierrez, and, who has a love-hate relationship with Bembol “Tomas” Roco.

However, it’s done with a darker resonance.

When Corazon visits JB secretly, Tomas follows her, and, unfortunately, finds her in conversation with Amang, which causes a verbal tussle between the two men, not just about Corazon, but also about their shared history.

It’s revealed that Tomas was the one who caused Amang’s hand injury during a violent incident in the early part of their lives.

Amang, who was a piano player at that time, had a female admirer who turned out to be Tomas’ girlfriend. Tomas went into a jealous fit, and when Amang tried to defend the lady, the latter fired a gun at him, damaging Amang’s hand irreperably.

Tomas Becomes Hannibal Back in Manila, Bembol “Tomas” Roco gently chides Corazon for not telling him she wanted to visit her son.

When Corazon waspishly replies, Tomas shifts and grabs her hand to force it down on the cutting board she is using.

In a scene reminiscent from Hannibal, Tomas menacingly threatens Corazon with dismemberment for stealing money from him to finance her island trip.

Tomas swishes down the knife and lets it rest on the cutting board, with Corazon’s hand intact.

There is no need to choose. When Anne “Celine” Curtis brings up the possibility that Sam “JB” Milby has to decide between her and his mom, JB quietly tells her, “There is no need to choose… my heart beats for you.”

Amang, Mamu G and Eli Separately, Glenda “Mamu G” Garcia and John Lloyd “Eli” Cruz visit Phillip “Amang” Salvador, with opposing purposes; Mamu G to tell him that “wala ka nang aasahan sa amin ng anak mo (you can expect nothing from us),” while Eli asks Amang to his engagement party with Bea “Jackie” Alonzo.

The Mysterious Hand There is a sequence where a mysterious hand holding a cigarette in one hand and a picture of Eli in the island in the other hand is shown.

Eli Gets Shot Surrounded by family and friends, some having traveled all the way from Manila, like Ramon “Mang Simo” Zamora and Malou “Aling Bebeng” de Guzman, Eli recounts the unique path that he and Jackie have taken to get to this point.

Eli falls on his knees and proposes again.

Jackie accepts wholeheartedly, and, as they embrace, Atong, one of Jackie’s kidnappers, bursts into the happy scene and calls out Eli’s name.

As Eli turns, Atong is able to release two shots before being tackled down by the male guests.
