Sniggers — Hysterectomy as a Bad Word

Plagued with incessant spotting and bleeding, abdominal pains, unidentified growths, and whatnot, my friend brought up the possibility of having a hysterectomy with her ob-gyne so as to stop once and for all any possibility of having any uterus related problems.

A shocked silence met her suggestion of having her uterus removed, which will make it virtually impossible for her to have biological children.

The doctor regained her composure and then resumed to discuss my friend’s condition.

My friend belatedly realized that mentioning a hysterectomy to an ob-gyne with a specialization in fertilization might be akin to a “bad” word.
