Natalie Portman Stars as Bollywood Princess in Boyfriend’s Music Video

MTV News reported on 26 March 2008 that “eccentric Venezuelan/Los Angelino merry folkster, Devendra Banhart, shot a new music video–’Carmensita off of Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon–that stars one of our favorite people ever, Natalie Portman.”

Welt Online describes her performance, “Portman pouts, flutters her eyelashes and giggles throughout the tongue-in-cheek video. Subtitles at the bottom of the screen say things like: “The princess whose golden beauty sang through the soul of heaven waited three full eclipses for her love to return.” By the end of the film, the Bollywood princess is reincarnated as an octopus.”

The Bollywood themed music video had E! Online declaring ‘Natalie Portman Must Be In Love’ for having been part of her boyfriend’s “quirky” creation.
