Nude Model Atop Peruvian Flag Might Get Jail Time

Peruvian model Leysi Suarez is shown on the cover of D Farandula magazine ala Lady Godiva, nude and riding bareback, with only the Peruvian flag draped over the horse to protect her privates from the horse’s flesh. In another image inside the Peruvian magazine, Leysi Suarez is shown with the national flag adorning a shoulder, and one end clutched in between her legs.

D Farandula magazine editor described the layout’s concept as a celebration of Peru’s Independence Day, and explained in his BBC interview, “All we want to do is to celebrate national holidays with a beautiful girl with our national flag.”

Several government officials, including the Minister of Defense, strongly disagree, and were offended with the supposed patriotic acts. In fact, there are orders to bring charges against Peruvian model Leysi Suarez, who might serve a jail sentence with a maximum possible period of four years for “offending patriotic symbols.”
