Christina Applegate’s Statement
E! Online reports the official statement of Christina Applegate’s camp. “Benefitting from early detection through a doctor-ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening,” publicist Ame Van Iden said. “Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery.”

Christina Applegate’s medical history includes an occurrence of breast cancer with regards to her mother, who survived with a partial masectomy.

How to Check Your Breasts
To detect breast cancer in its early stages, FamilyDoctor.org recommends:

* Have regular mammograms (usually every 1-2 years starting around age 40).
* Have your doctor check your breasts.
* Check your breasts yourself every month.
