Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi Get Married

It has been confirmed by People Magazine that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have tied the knot on 16 August 2008 at their LA home.

Celebrities sent their congratulations and well wishes, including Katherine Heigl, T.R. Knight, America Ferrera, Ana Ortiz, Verne Troyer and Jason Biggs.

Katherine Heigl generously said, “One of my favorite people of all time is Ms. Ellen DeGeneres, so I wish her all the best, all the happiness, all the joy…”

Jason Biggs, who recently got married, gushed over the marital state, “Congratulations, Ellen and Portia! That’s fantastic news. I’m really excited for them. I just got married myself, so I’m, like, on cloud nine. The whole marriage thing is, like, amazing…”

T.R. Knight said, in reference to the fact that same sex marriages are now legalized in California, “I’m happy that they’re allowed to get married.”
