Madonna Divorces But Continues Concert Tour

BBC confirms the divorce of Madonna and Guy Ritchie, despite assertions that the marriage did not “need saving” as early as of July 2008.

Madonna’s spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg, gave a public statement that states, “relations [are] still cordial and they [expect] to agree a settlement without going to court.” The assets in question are worth, approximately, 300 million pounds, with a majority of it earned by Madonna during the span of her decades long career that has seen her being a recording artist, actor, director and author.

BBC also reports that “Madonna and Ritchie married in December 2000 at Skibo Castle in the Scottish Highlands and have two sons – seven-year-old Rocco and David Banda, whose adoption from Malawi was approved in May. The singer also has a 12-year-old daughter, Lourdes, from an earlier relationship.”

Entertainment Tonight confirms that Madonna will go on with her scheduled Sticky and Sweet concert in Boston and has requested “the media [to] maintain respect for their family at this difficult time.”
