The celebrities were out and about in 2008, with some surprises along the way. Despite denials earlier during the year regarding any grave marital problems, Madonna and Guy Ritchie split up in a quickie divorce.

John Mayer dated Jessica Simpson and Cameron Diaz before settling for on and off again companion Jennifer Aniston

Wild child Lindsay Lohan is in good hands with DJ Sam Ronson, despite her assertions that she’s not a lesbian.

And some tied the knot in 2008. Pop diva Mariah Carey got married to Nickster Nick Cannon, while Beyonce and Jay-Z had a wedding ceremony attended by very close friends and family.
